A Night to Remember: Celebrating New Chapters with Gratitude at Jung Do

Join us as we celebrate the new chapter of three black belts at Jung Do with a heartfelt evening of gratitude, stories, and strong community bonds that define the essence of "The Right Way."

On August 28th, our 12+ class gathered for a potluck to celebrate a significant milestone in our Jung Do family. Three of our black belts, Mr. Kardassis, Ms. Sorenson, and Coach Ival, were about to begin a new chapter in their lives, and we wanted to honor their journey in true Jung Do style. The evening began as many of our events do—filled with food, games, laughter, and lighthearted fun. But as the sun began to set and the final bites of food were consumed, the mood shifted into something far deeper and more profound than any of us had anticipated.

As the night wore on, we invited everyone to come together, sit down, and share their stories, thoughts, and best wishes for our soon-to-be Jung Do alumni. What unfolded next was nothing short of extraordinary. In a time where many claim that today's youth struggle with communication, this group defied that notion in the most beautiful way possible. They didn’t just speak—they opened up. What started as light-hearted stories soon turned into heartfelt expressions of gratitude, fond memories, and warm wishes.

Tears were shed, and every word spoken felt as though it carried the weight of love, admiration, and respect. It was clear that these weren't just words—they were the emotional embodiment of the strong bonds that had been formed through years of training, perseverance, and shared challenges.

Coach Robert, the leader of this group, quietly observed from the sidelines. He watched as the students he had trained from a young age were showered with appreciation, not just for their accomplishments, but for the leaders they had become. It was a moment of pride and fulfillment—a true testament to the philosophy that Jung Do embodies.

Jung Do, a Korean term meaning “The Right Way,” is more than just a martial arts school; it’s a community built on the principles of discipline, respect, and mutual support. The relationships forged within this community are powerful, made even stronger by the shared challenges we face together. What we witnessed that evening was the essence of Jung Do—a community of young people who have learned not only to navigate the physical challenges of martial arts but also to build meaningful, heartfelt connections with one another.

It’s hard to capture the magic of that night in mere words, but one thing is for certain: it was a reminder of the importance of love, respect, and support for our fellow human beings. At a time when the world often feels disconnected, this celebration was a beautiful reminder of the strength and beauty of community.

To Mr. Kardassis, Ms. Sorenson, and Coach Ival, we send you off with our deepest gratitude and love. Thank you for being part of our Jung Do family, and for doing things the right way. We know you will continue to inspire others on your journey ahead.

Here’s to the next chapter!
